DEBBIE MCCOLLUM

A native Texan, Debbie has made the Metroplex her home for about 35 years, and currently resides in Fort Worth.  Music has been an integral part of her life in many different ways since childhood.  Throughout her early years, she attended church regularly where she participated in singing congregational acapella hymns and gospel music with her parents and three younger sisters.  To paraphrase an old song, "Daddy sang bass, momma sang tenor, me and my sisters joined right in there!"  In later years she again sang in church as well as with various local bands.

This multi-talented performer got more earnestly involved in music about five years ago when she began to develop her interest in dancing.   In addition to learning how to do ballroom, country, swing, and Latin dances, she also picked up on a few fun line dances!  In fact, she eventually won several ballroom dance competitions.  However, the dancing also indirectly provided her with opportunities to sing with some of the popular bands in the area.  Some of the bands she has either been a member of or sat in with are:

   Glasgow hotel rooms"The Party Crashers"

   "Lookin' Back"

   "Tarbaby"

   "Flipside"

   The Soul Binders"

   "Smart Like Einstein"

   The Yellow Rose Trio

   "HearSay"

Debbie has also sung at various local country opries and venues, some of which include:

ERROR MSG"The Johnnie High Country Music Revue"

   "The Weatherford Opry"

   "The Stockyards Opry"

   "Billy Bob's Texas

Debbie is currently a vocalist for:

A twenty-piece swing-band orchestra "The Dynamic Swing Machine"

   A five-piece variety band Into-It

   A female duet SugarTime

A fifteen-piece variety band "The Paul Salos Orchestra"

Debbie has matured into a versatile and adaptable vocalist with a wide repertoire of songs spanning all genres of music.  She brings a variety of tunes to the mix and often livens up events by leading the audience in various line dances and other social dances in between (and sometimes during!) vocalizing!
